Hi, I’m Jon, and this is my first blog post. I’m a healthcare executive by day, and a guitar player by night. My passion for personal growth has fueled a thirst for lifelong learning, and I’m hoping that the Navel Gazing Blog will help me to grow and maybe even inspire others to do the same.
I’ve been focused on personal and professional growth for quite some time, and I have always felt a pull towards writing. I want to continue my growth journey, and hope that this blog becomes a community for others to engage, create, and grow together.
I’ve recently been through some pretty traumatic life experiences. I won a fight with brain cancer while navigating the end of a 26 year marriage. The downtime I spent in cancer treatment gave me the opportunity to reflect, refocus, and reconnect. While undergoing chemotherapy I grew exponentially as a person, enjoying new and rekindled friendships, a stronger faith, and the love and support of so many people.
You may be asking “Jon, what makes you qualified to tell people about personal development on the internet?” Don’t worry. I’m asking myself that very same thing. The short answer is that I’m no more qualified than anyone else. I don’t have it all figured out. Maybe you know more than me. That’s OK. You can teach me. We can learn from each other, share our knowledge, and leave the world a bit better than we found it.
I’ll be posting structured content here every week. My hope is that the Navel Gazing Blog can serve to enhance and support you on your journey to personal growth. Content will focus on personal growth, productivity, and learning for busy professionals. My aim is to make this blog useful, actionable and relevant for the masses.
I look forward to engaging you and learning alongside of you.
Looking forward to following you on this journey!
